Building Up Families for the Future
At Rochester Advocates for Children, our mission is to help families who are caring after other family members’ children, whether it be grandchildren, nieces or nephews.
OUR GOALS – Our goals are to help families with education in every aspect. Our goal is to teach children about everyday living… from bank literacy to credit literacy to developing goals and respect for themselves and others.
WE WILL HELP each child have the opportunity to apply for college, help find grants and fill out the FAFSA student aid application.
We will initiate a tutoring program for older children to tutor younger children in whatever subjects they may need assistance with.
WE WILL ALSO HELP families with disabled children find resources that they are not aware of. Once we find a building to open, we will have somewhere for these children to go and learn with the disability they may have. Motor skills, games and interaction with other children just as them.
WE WILL HELP family members who are looking for employment by conducting job fairs and provide assistance in filling out job applications from high schoolers to adults.
WE WILL HELP families in need to find suitable housing.
WE WILL HAVE basic computer classes for adults and try to help adults obtain their GED or High School diploma.
WE WILL have speakers to discuss mental health issues in private settings, as well as enable group therapy classes to help individuals move forward during difficult situations.
With the help of donations and others we will fight for our community and the issues at hand.
